Privacy Policy
Effective date: Sept 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how emdrwithkelli.com handles information about people who visit this website. It applies to this website only.
This website is operated by Kelli Lane Redfield, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, California License #158231, doing business as EMDR with Kelli, located at 127 East 3rd Avenue, Escondido, CA 92025.
This policy is not the Notice of Privacy Practices. If you are a client of this practice, the confidentiality of your health information is governed by a separate Notice of Privacy Practices provided to you at intake, along with federal HIPAA rules and the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act. Those protections are stronger than, and separate from, this website policy. Nothing in this policy limits them.
Please read this before using the contact form
Website forms, email, and text messages are not secure and are not confidential in the way a therapy session is.
Please do not use the contact form or email to share detailed clinical information, symptoms, diagnoses, trauma history, medication details, or anything you would not want read by someone other than me. Limit web and email contact to scheduling, general questions, and requests for a consultation call.
Once we begin working together, secure methods of communication are established, and clinical information belongs there.
Never use this website for an emergency. Website messages are not monitored continuously. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, text HOME to 741741, or call 911 if you are in immediate danger.
Categories of information collected
Information you provide directly. When you submit the contact form, this practice receives your name, your email address, the subject line, and the content of your message. If you call or email, it receives whatever you choose to share.
Scheduling information. If you book through the scheduling tool embedded on this site, you provide your name, email address, phone number, appointment time, and any information you enter into the intake fields.
Mailing list information. If you subscribe to updates, your email address and any name you provide.
Purchase information. If you buy something through the store or register for a retreat, the payment processor collects your name, billing address, email, and payment card details. Full payment card numbers are handled by the payment processor and are never received or stored by this practice.
Information collected automatically. Standard web technologies collect your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the time and duration of your visit, and the website or search engine that referred you. Cookies and similar technologies are used to make the site function and to measure aggregate traffic.
No sensitive health information is intentionally collected through this website. If you voluntarily include health information in a form or email, it is handled with care, but the transmission itself is not secure.
How that information is used
To respond to your inquiry and answer your questions
To schedule and confirm consultation calls and appointments
To determine whether this practice is an appropriate fit for what you need
To process purchases and retreat registrations
To send you updates, if and only if you asked for them
To understand in aggregate how people find and move through this website, so it can be improved
To keep records required for business, tax, and professional purposes
To comply with the law
Your information is not sold, rented, traded, or shared for anyone else's advertising. This practice does not sell personal information, and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Using it is entirely optionalProfessional and legal advisorsAccountants, attorneys, or a professional liability carrier, only when necessary.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or where disclosure is legally mandated or permitted.
Mandated reporting. As a licensed clinician, Kelli Lane Redfield has legal obligations under California law that can require disclosure without consent, including suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or dependent adult, and situations involving a serious and imminent threat of harm. These obligations apply regardless of how information reaches this practice.
Third parties may collect information about your activity
The analytics and embedded tools described above are operated by other companies. Some of them may collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across other websites and services, using cookies and similar technologies. This practice does not control that collection, and does not receive individual-level advertising profiles from it.
You can limit this by adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies, by using your browser's private mode, or by installing a tracking-blocking extension. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of this website work. Google offers an opt-out for its analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Response to Do Not Track signals
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no industry consensus on how to interpret it. This website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. The third-party services described above may also not respond to them. If you want to limit tracking, the browser controls and opt-outs described in the previous section are the more effective route.
Reviewing, correcting, and deleting your information
You may, at any time:
Ask what information about you is held
Ask that it be corrected
Ask that it be deleted
Unsubscribe from the mailing list, using the link in any message or by asking
Withdraw a question or inquiry and ask that the record of it be removed
Send requests to therapy@kelliredfield.com or call (619) 784-8158. You will receive a response within 30 days.
Two limits. First, information required to be retained by law — clinical records, tax records — cannot be deleted on request, and clinical records held for established clients are governed by the Notice of Privacy Practices and California law rather than this policy. Second, verification may be requested before information is released or deleted, so that it is not disclosed to the wrong person.
How long information is kept
Inquiries from people who do not become clients are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and to maintain ordinary business records, and are then deleted.
Mailing list information is kept until you unsubscribe.
Analytics data is retained in aggregate according to the analytics provider's standard retention settings.
Clinical records for established clients are retained as required by California law and professional standards, generally 7 years or 7 years after 18 years old, as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
Security
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information, including a secure connection (HTTPS) across this website, access controls, and reputable service providers.
No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed. This is exactly why the contact form and email should not be used for detailed clinical information. In the event of a breach involving personal information, affected individuals will be notified as required by California Civil Code sections 1798.29 and 1798.82 and by applicable federal law.
Children and minors
This practice serves adults only. This website is not directed to children, and personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information through this site, contact therapy@kelliredfield.com and it will be deleted.
California privacy rights
This is a small solo practice. It does not meet the revenue or data-volume thresholds that make a business subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, and it does not sell or share personal information for advertising (California Attorney General). Regardless of whether the CCPA applies, requests to know, correct, or delete your information are honored as described above, and you will not be treated differently for making one.
Health information about clients is separately protected by the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, which restricts the disclosure, sharing, and sale of medical information by health care providers.
Links to other websites
This site links to third-party websites, including professional directories, an insurance reimbursement service, and social media. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not apply to them. Review theirs before providing information.
Telehealth
Telehealth sessions are conducted through a platform selected for security and confidentiality, and are covered by the Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this website policy. Telehealth services are available only to clients physically located in California.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. When it is, the effective date at the top of this page is revised, and the updated policy is posted here.
If a change materially affects how your information is handled, notice will be given by posting a prominent notice on this website for at least 30 days, and by email to subscribers and to anyone who has an active inquiry. Continuing to use this website after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
